The surge protector is designed to automatically turn on/off devices on four "slave" outlets as soon as the master outlet is turned on/off. It is possible to connect a TV to a master outlet, DVD player to a slave outlet, and the slave outlet to the master outlet. When the TV is turned on or off, the device senses it and turns on / off the slave outlets, thus reducing the standby power consumption of peripheral devices.
